Three drug dealers were killed on Monday night after a “meth gator” interrupted a police raid outside of Mobile.
“These individuals had been tossing meth into a nearby swamp every night for over a week,” said deputy Bobby Conrad, who was at the scene.
Sources say the dealers were warned by an informant about an imminent police raid. “They got paranoid, and kept thinking it was coming each night,” said Conrad. “Meanwhile, a gator in a nearby swamp was getting a steady supply of this dangerous drug.”
The raid eventually did come, prompting the dealers to dump even more meth into the swamp as law enforcement surrounded the home.
Police entered the residence and began clearing the rooms, but the suspects had fled out the back door with guns, preparing for a standoff. To their horror, only moments later, an alligator emerged from the swamp of the Mobile delta and attacked them from behind, killing one man before the others could even react.
The dealers attempted to fight the reptile but said their guns were virtually useless.
“It was moving so fast we couldn’t even get a shot off before it leaped into the air and killed Terry,” said Larry Crawford, who agreed to an interview from jail.
At this point, a man named Billy Dean, the group’s leader, blasted the alligator with a shotgun multiple times, but not before it had fatally mauled the first victim. Crawford described the scene:
“That gator was skinny as hell, and it was tweaking. When Billy used the shotgun it just pissed it off more. You could see it in his eyes. His pupils were dilated, and he was twitching constantly.”
The alligator then killed Dean and one other man before police arrived and assisted the suspects.
“We probably shot that son of a bitch over a hundred times and it was still coming at us like a maniac,” said Conrad.
The alligator eventually succumbed to its wounds, but not before creating one of the most disturbing scenes officers had ever witnessed.
“I’ve never seen anything like it in my twenty years of police work,” said Conrad. “Please, do not flush your drugs down the toilet, especially amphetamines. We don’t want to see anyone else get hurt.”
The surviving suspects are being charged with illegal possession of firearms, manufacturing of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
Sources say that after police killed the alligator they saw it had rotting teeth and skin sores. An autopsy will be performed to confirm amphetamine use.
Damn!
