LOUISVILLE, Ky–Local Methodist preacher Teddy Jenkins is struggling to answer questions about his computer’s browser history after thousands of porn searches were found by a concerned parent.
Church member Beverly Page discovered the searches when she used the pastor’s computer to research a Bible scripture during Sunday school.
“He was out of his office so I just sat down to look up a couple things and I accidentally clicked on the history. What popped up was some of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life. When he saw me on his computer, he looked upset, and that’s when I confronted him about the search history. He kept saying he didn’t know what I was talking about and tried to lecture me about getting on the computer. I was like, ‘my husband and I practically paid for that computer as much as we give.'”
Pastor Jenkins has fiercely denied the allegations, which spread rapidly after Page began telling other church members. The church board held an emergency meeting to decide how to proceed in light of the revelations.
“I think that all men are tested at some point in their life. This is my test, to weather a falsehood,” said the minister.
He provided several possible explanations for his browser’s history:
“It could have been kids on my computer when I wasn’t there. It could have been the devil, to test me and my congregation. It also could have been the Ambien.”
Page has called for Jenkins’ immediate termination, but many church members are standing by their preacher.
“I don’t believe he would do it,” said Tina Smith, a Sunday School teacher.
One parent said he would support the pastor even if he were guilty. “Men are tempted. No one is perfect. I believe we should forgive those of us who sin, and not hold everyone to an impossible standard.”
Others, however, are more skeptical. Billy Garret, a local parent, said he had a zero tolerance policy for porn in his church. “This is a clean community, and I’m not going to attend a church that has a pervert for a preacher.”
A search of the computer revealed several X rated videos, including Throat Gaggers 6, Anal Queens 2, and Big Titty Bitches 3. The hard drive has since been wiped.
Reverend Jenkins will continue to preach until the board reaches a decision. He told the Jest that his next sermon will be about false accusations.
